This was its 4th year and featured a sales floor with costumes, makeup, props, coffins, Froggys Fog, and Sees Candy!
There were spaces for vendors, Pro haunt and Home haunts.
Thursday night had a tour of Nightmare Factory in Salem located at the OSD campus and Friday nights tour was at Fourhorsemen Haunt in Delta Park.
Saturday nights Charity Costume Ball was a grand success along with its silent auction.
The speakers schedule was impressive with Key note speakers Cydney Neil (Rocky Point Haunted House); Scott Simmons (The ScareHouse); Mike Krausert (Bad Boys Scenic Design/Terror on the Fox) and Brian Fields (Pirates of Emerson) among the many. There were specialty classes taught by Dutch Birhary (3D Painting), Cory Hunt (Fang/dental prosthetic) and Pashur (13 ways to die)
A highlight for me was the 13th Floor. It housed ONLY us haunters and was themed just for us. The hallways were amass with flying bats, the rooms tricked out with props, red lights and FX and we even had our own BAR on the floor. Special guests came knocking late Friday night trying to perform special maintenance in room, but were halted by my roomie.
I was hoping they would come back Saturday night after the ball, but they did not.
So much laughter, information, reconnecting with Cali haunters & meeting new ones makes the WCHC one of the best I attend. Kudos to Ed Roberts and his team for a well designed, superbly executed and marvelous weekend.
So during the con I was approached by 2 guys I met at Hell's
Gateway Haunted House last season to venture out to a local strip club. Seems Casa Diablo Vegan Strip Club theme is Tarantino-isque with a look fromFrom Dusk till Dawn.
Alas, I was not brave enough to warder off in the night with these fine gentlemen, but do promise to go back and check it out for myself. O_o
