1st week will bring sparse attendance that can create lackluster performance from the scare-actors.
2nd week the customers start to arrive and staff steps up to the increase in energy and the whole event starts to rock.
3rd week bring multitudes of patrons, arriving in mass expecting to get right in without a wait. Scare-actors witness a ‘conga line’ of customers rolling though the haunt.
4th week- Halloween weekend- immense crowds of (usually) intoxicated customers arrive to experience the thrill and horror you’ve worked so hard to produce. Timing the queue can be difficult as nobody wants to wait their turn, but you need to break it up so the scare-actors can give a good show.
This bring me to a few tricks on how to get the best experience while attending a haunt this season:
· Buy your tickets online, if possible, buy the fast pass. This will cut out at least 1 line of waiting, and possibly save you hours in the queue.
· Bring friends; it’s amusing to experience your best boo screaming for their life.
· Plan on making an evening of it. Most haunts have food concessions, music, side show-acts and merchandise onsite. A few are now providing Beer Gardens for those of legal drinking age.
So venture out and get the snot scared out of you this season.
