The Pirates of Emerson has moved after 18 years and is now pillaging the Alameda County Fairgrounds with more spirits than a bottle of Rum.
The whole compound is intricately themed and the pirate souls that roam never break character even while chasing a skirt or dueling an adversary.
This year there’s “Monions” to purchase are for the superfluous attractions inside like Steam Punk Car and CarnEvil games.
There are 5 haunts if you can live to tell the tale; Dig of the Dead, Kill-Billy’s Cabin, (where I swear I heard banjo music) Night Scare before Christmas, (You’ll never think of Christmas the same again) Mannibal Lab (experiments gone disgustingly wrong) and the constantly remarkable Pirates of Emerson. Ever bewildering Bilge Rat Maze is on sight if you care to find your way out. Miserably, I did not and had to be saved.
