The Beast is a self lead haunt that pioneered the “open format” concept where patrons wander through the scenes without a set path so you never know where a creature is lurking or a prop set poised to trigger. It takes about 45 minutes to walk through if you don’t get lost. I certainly did in the ¼ acre size werewolf forest. Thick with fog and sparsely light I wandered along seeking my exit calling “Marco” in hopes of finding my way out. After about 15 minutes I had found 17 other lost souls, 2 actors, 1 tech way and a several dark corners before pleading for directions. Within the haunt are several pitch black sections where your personal space is violated and roaming hands can make your acquaintance and if not careful you could miss step down the massive amount of stairs. There is a looping path in the mirror maze, an endless tunnel and a LIVE alligator in residence. The uber cool Telsa coil in the storm room will make your hair stand on end and the exit is a four story slide straight down! Yagaboggie - Got to love those slides.
